Today we stopped at the farm stand up the road. The same farm stand where I bought okra and green tomatoes - and got a tried and true family recipe for cooking both. While we were there we saw big bags of *something.* I asked Marty what he thought they might be and we both guessed strangely colored black eyed peas. I am pretty sure we were wrong.
I think what we saw were shelled purple hull peas.

Of course, I have no idea how to cook them. Man I love the internet.
I will let you know how they turn out.
